change...

**new word of the day: harbinger

The pounding in my head as i woke up this morning, was a sure-fire harbinger that change is near. Monday blues? I don't think they're supposed to last the whole week.

Other harbinger of change around here:

  • the sporadic rainfalls,
  • promising emails,
  • the obsessive cleaning of my room,
  • the continuous flow from my mucus membrane,
  • the obtrusive block and grinding halt of my current projects,
  • Tim Tams *yeay!*
  • little notes in my bible
  • sms-es
  • whacky chat sessions
  • fireflies?
  • what's next?

    kill your iPod

Since Jimmy's out of order, I thought i'd take up this challenge.
While the call to “kill your iPod” is more for shock value than for literal interpretation (most scholars maintain), this is a call to action. Consider this a challenge: deny yourself entertainment for two weeks and see if you are not less stressed, more creative and closer to God.

    Updates on Project 28:

pictures will be a lil backdated. Jimmy's graphic card just met a tragic end. *sob sob*
Any ammount of (cash/spare parts) donation will be welcome in our "GIVE JIMMY NEW INSIDES" fund.

    Stranger Than Fiction

I watched Stranger Than Fiction the other day and thought that it was the most enjoyable movie i've watched in a really long time. i found myself resisting the urge to whip out my notebook and pen to actually write down quotes from the movie.

I tend to do that. Movie's, plays even conversations. I write them down. Just the stuff that inspire or provoke me. I feel like Anna saying "write them down BIG!"

watching that show, i began to question myself as well, "Am i in a comedy or a tragedy?" I mean life's what you make of it right? I could turn a tragedy into a
comedy, laugh at my mistakes and i'd be making my own stories. Right? But it wouldn't really be real i suppose...
Maybe tragedies are supposed to happen so you'd anticipate the comedies.

But I could do without the drama sometimes. I'm not saying my life is FULL of drama.
Far from it actually. But can't we ever just... be...?

"No more drama, no more no more drama"

One of my fav lines from the movie was when Harold Crick was trying to tell Dr. Jules Hilbert that the author was gonna kill his character: -
Dr. Jules Hilbert: Hell Harold, you could just eat nothing but pancakes if you wanted.
Harold Crick: What is wrong with you? Hey, I don't want to eat nothing but pancakes, I want to live! I mean, who in their right mind in a choice between pancakes and living chooses pancakes?
Dr. Jules Hilbert: Harold, if you pause to think, you'd realize that that answer is inextricably contingent upon the type of life being led... and, of course, the quality of the pancakes.
That was like an "A-hA!" moment for me. I can't quite explain it, but that totally spoke to me about my curent phase in life. Choices i'm faced with. Losing one thing and gaining another. I think i'd pick pancakes too. =p

I wonder if we, like Harold Crick, knew what the end of our story was like, would choose to walk down that path nonetheless or would we choose to change our destinies?

That reminded me of one early morning conversation we had with the boss; about choices and free will : -

"Men make their own choices right? Will men ever make choices that go against the will of God? Since God is all-knowing, wouldn't he have had already predestined the choices that you will make? Did He WILL you to make the wrong choice? where does free will come in?"

I think we might not always have the kind of answers that people like to hear or want to hear. But I do have answers that satisfy me and i'm pretty content with that for now. Tragedy? Comedy? Maybe we're all just walking examples of a tragic comedy. And in my humble opinion, that ain't a bad thing. Keeps you on your toes, knowing you haven't arrived at that place where you were meant to be.
Kay Eiffel: [narrating] And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life.

    i'm not you!

i hate it when you make it sound like i'm some big slacker.
like i dun give a rip bout the 'important' things in life.
i hate it when you start telling me how to live my life and that my visions and the things i'm passionate about is just a waste of time.
sometimes i think, you think i'm a joke.
i hate it that you're so uptight and when you get all caught up in this stupid money making endeavor and when you remind me of all things material.
I'm sorry i don't flow that way. I still live on sunshine and fresh air and i still think everything will be okay.
Naive i may be. But i'd like to think that's where faith comes into play.
Now don't you start belittling that too.
I'm not concerned by the things that you deem important, neither do i aspire to lead the same kind of lifestyle you do.
so stop telling me how to live my life and reminding me that i'm useless.
I don't need you to 'save' me cause i'm doing perfectly fine on my own!

    5 Things

    Here's a meme of:
5 things you might or might not know bout me

    1. I got the word Hoyden out of the dictionary.
I was looking for a screen name that starts with a "H" cause this guy i had a crush on had a screen name which started with a "H". Lame i know. But Hoyden kinda stuck right from high school till now.

    2. I silently sing in the bathroom.
I make up words and hum a tune to a song and sometimes the lyrics are good but by the time i'm done with my hour-long shower, i usually forget what the song was about.
*I should probrably install a white board in the shower.

    3. I have 4 blogs.
Some might think I'm schizo. But nahh.... I just compartmentalize myself.

    4. I fear public speaking.
If I have to speak out loud in a group, I tend to rehearse the sentences in my head. Sometimes.... this even applies to praying in a small circle. I'm really an introvert. I kid you not. I get clammy and my heart starts pounding even.

    5. I make lists.
Regardless of whether i stick to them or not, i still write my list of stuff to do, stuff to buy and I even have lists of do's and dont's.

Well since its a meme, i'll just tag whoever who actually reads my random nonsense. :-)
